Internship Positions 

 

The Tennessee Athletics Hospitality interns play a vital role in the success of football, basketball, baseball, and softball hospitality programs as well as athletic rental events at Neyland Stadium. 
This position requires excellent communication skills, the ability to think on his/her feet, organizational skills and enthusiasm.
The interns will work closely with UT Athletic Donors, The Tennessee Fund and other members of athletics. The interns also help manage the game day student workers.
This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in sports, hospitality and/or events. The internship program starts July 2022 and ends May 2023.

The Tennessee Athletics Hospitality internship program offers a great opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge and first-hand practical experience in many aspects of premium seat operations. This opportunity will provide insight into what a career in Athletic Hospitality would be like by providing exposure to several departments.  
This position primarily focuses on the Event Management and Hospitality side of the sports industry.
This part-time internship is a paid position that will last from August 2022 to June 2023.
 
Essential Duties:
  • Assisting in game day operations for football, men’s and women’s basketball, baseball, and softball
  • Staffing and supervision of up to 40 game day employees
  • Upkeep and maintenance of assigned inventory, supplies, materials and equipment
  • General office duties
  • Assisting in managing day to day operations in the office – up to 10 hours per week
  • Establishing a relationship with vendors, facilities, and the community to support our growing brand
  • Other duties as assigned
 
Required qualifications include but are not limited to the following:
  • Current students in Hospitality, Sports Management, or other related field strongly preferred
  • Must be able to work entire length of internship
  • Must be able to work ALL Tennessee home football games
  • Experience in hospitality or guest relations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Computer Skills: Microsoft Office Suite
  • Be a U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the U.S.
